Our Story

Lac du Bonnet Seniors Care was created from a simple belief:

Seniors deserve to age with dignity, respect, and meaningful companionship — right here in their own community.

Founded by Kris Wood, a dedicated senior care professional with years of experience in long-term care and recreational programming, our mission is to provide reliable, compassionate companion care that supports independence and enhances quality of life.

After working extensively with seniors in care facilities, Kris saw firsthand how much personalized attention and one-on-one companionship truly matter. Lac du Bonnet Seniors Care was created to bring that same level of care directly into the homes of local families.

Meet Kris

Kris brings hands-on experience in:

  • Senior companion care

  • Recreational coordination and activity programming

  • Safe transfers and mobility assistance

  • MSIP Sitting to Standing training

  • Independent Transfer certification

  • FoodSafe Food Handler Certification

  • Aboriginal Cultural Awareness training

Her background includes working closely with seniors at West Park Manor and serving as a Recreational Coordinator in Whitemouth.

When my parents needed extra support, I wish Lac du Bonnet Senior Care had existed. We met Kris when my dad moved into Whitemouth PCH five years ago, and from the very first day, she brought light into his life. Her kindness, humor, and genuine care created an instant bond that felt like family to him - especially when she brought him his favorite cold beer.

When my mom joined him a year later, Kris embraced her with the same love and care. Living at a distance meant we couldn’t visit as often as we wanted, and Kris helped filled that space by sitting and talking with them, laughing with them, or even just watching TV with them. She made sure they never felt alone. My parents adored Kris. They talked about her visits and missed her whenever she took time off.
